Susan
Soule Cagna
Mrs. U.S. Beauties
2003/2004
Mrs. Susan Soule Cagna, who resides in Nashville, TN with her husband
Thomas and young daughter Sarah, is the 2003-2004 Mrs. U.S. Beauties
national winner. She is a wife and mother, and a very active member
of her church and community. Mrs. Cagna is an ordained minister, facilitates
and teaches various Bible studies within the community, serves on the
Women’s Leadership Team at Christ Church and is a board member
of Rejoice School of Dance. She volunteers for the “Make A Wish
Foundation of America” that grants wishes to children suffering
from life-threatening medical conditions. Susan also volunteers with
the Ronald McDonald House.
Susan’s
platform focused on speaking with children and young adults, encouraging
them to develop their talents and pursue their God-given potential.
She has broadened her horizons into many of the nations largest children’s
hospitals. She uses her title as an opportunity to visit with the children,
ministering to them and their families. She feels it is important to
convey to the children how brave and special they are. Many of the girls
enjoy wearing the national crown during the visit.
September
2004 Susan took on the leadership role as the director of the Christ
Church “Wee Rejoice” Worship Dancers, teaching children
how to worship and praise God through the art of dance. Mrs. Cagna has
studied classical ballet since the age of three. She gave her talent
to the Lord at age nineteen.
Susan
began a career modeling as a young girl. A runway in department store
in her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama gave her “clearance for
takeoff” into the world of modeling.
Soon she was in Seventeen Magazine’s top five for “Look
of the Year” and gained a contract with the Elite Agency. After
moving to L.A. for additional training, she was offered a second contract,
and appeared in a vast array of arenas, including the national hit TV
show “Solid Gold’, a video with REO Speedwagon, Kent Swimwear
shoot in the Bahamas, and in 1986 was highlighted in New Talent Magazine
for her ballet skills as well as her commercial print look. Next came
sessions with a slew of famous photographers such as Douglas Sutter,
Michael Lohr, and Hollywood photographer Cindy Pitchford.
The
Fall of 1986 Susan became a “models model” for students
at Learning Tree University in Los Angeles. From this she was asked
to tape “Steps to Modeling Fashion” for over the counter
sales by the director of photography at the University.
February 1987 Susan was chosen by model scout Patrick Burnet as one
of three girls in America to be
flown to Paris for a two to three year contract. Susan decided not to
fly to Paris, and Mr. Burnet sent pictures to an agency in London, England,
which resulted in another contract offer.
Throughout 1989-1998, Susan continued gracing the runway, as well as
television ads. In 1991-1992, she became a runway instructor with Studio
4 in Guntersville, AL.
In spring of 1992 she entered the “Millie Lewis American Modeling
and Talent Convention” winning second place in the T.V. commercial
category and first place in the dance category.
The summer of 1997 she was chosen for the international promotion of
the new Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle and a life-size mural for
worldwide promotion to be used when the vehicle was on tour.
In September 2002 Susan was crowned U.S. Beauties Mrs. Tennessee. She
then went on to represent the state of Tennessee in the national pageant
in Chicago, IL. June 2003, and was crowned with the National title of
Mrs. U.S. Beauties for 2003-2004.
Susan has begun her judging career. She is on the current list of judges
for the Miss America Pageant, Miss, Ms & Mrs. US Beauties Pageant
and Our Little Miss state and National pageants. She has also judged as; Head Judge for America's Outstanding Teen, National Pageant and National America's Miss Judge's Panel.
She has been featured in Charisma Magazine and Marriage Partnership
for her work with hospitalized children when reigning as Mrs. U.S. Beauties.
Currently, she is the director for Christ Church Nashville dance department,
and is the Director of Integrity Pageant Coaching in Nashville, TN,
specializing in pageant coaching and runway.
